2024 Olympic Games: Sports Ministry pays debt owed Team Ghana ahead of Men’s 4x100m Heats

The Sports Ministry has reportedly cleared all debt owed to Team Ghana’s relay team ahead of their heat at the 2024 Olympic Games.

A report by Ghanaian journalist Fentuo Tahiro suggests that the Ministry cleared all arrears on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

The report emphasized that the debt was per diems and other bonuses from the African Games and the relay qualifiers in the Bahamas.

Team Ghana will compete in the relay today, August 8, 2024. They will compete in Heat 2 with Jamaica, Germany, Brazil, Liberia, and the host country, France.

Ghana hopes to replicate their performance in the previous Olympics in Tokyo, where it made it to the finals.

The quartet to take the track today includes Rasheed Saminu as the first leg, Benjamin Azamati as the second leg, Ibrahim Fuseini as the third leg, and Joseph Paul Amoah as the anchor leg.

The race is slated for 9:35 GMT.
