Deputy Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, has confirmed that he is safe and responding well to treatment after being involved in a road accident last week while travelling to an official event in the Upper West Region.
The incident occurred while he was travelling with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, to attend the 8th Congregation ceremony and 40th Anniversary celebration of Tumu College of Education.
In a statement issued on February 15, 2026, Mr. Sukparu disclosed that he is responding positively to medical treatment and remains in good spirits, following professional advice to take a short break from active duties to aid his recovery.
“By the grace of Almighty Allah, I am safe and currently receiving medical attention. I am recovering well and have been advised by medical professionals to rest and observe a brief period of recuperation,” he stated.
Mr. Sukparu extended his appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George for their concern and support.
He also expressed gratitude to Members of Parliament, fellow ministers, chief executive officers, and residents of the Sissala West Constituency for their prayers, goodwill messages, and show of solidarity.
The Deputy Minister further acknowledged the prompt intervention of Issah Mohammed Bataglia, MP for Sissala East, and commended the medical personnel at Tumu Municipal Hospital and 37 Military Hospital for their swift and professional care.
Reassuring the public, Mr. Sukparu emphasized that his condition remains stable and that his focus is firmly on a full and speedy recovery.
