A Nigerian national, said to be in his 30s, has reportedly been arrested for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old seamstress apprentice.
According to a report by oyerepafmonline.com, the incident occurred at Nkwantanan Teachers City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The report states that the victim was returning home with her younger sister when the suspect allegedly dragged her into a bush, covered her mouth, and forcibly had sex with her while threatening her with a knife.
The incident was confirmed by the victim’s mother, Cecilia Krampa, who stated that the victim’s younger sister managed to escape during the attack and sought help from nearby okada riders, but the suspect had fled upon their return.
She stated that the victim later went into hiding after the act but was tracked down by the Assembly Member for Buduburam Electoral Area, with the assistance of some young men in the area, and handed over to the police on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
