OSP announces court dates for high profile cases

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has released the court dates for a number of high-profile cases it is currently prosecuting.

Notable among the criminal cases is the trial involving former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta; and seven others in the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) case, which is scheduled to continue on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

The SML case, built on a 78-count indictment, centers on allegations of corruption and financial loss to the state, linked to government contracts awarded between 2018 and 2024.

According to the OSP, these hearing dates, “mark the next steps in those proceedings.”

Other high-profile cases are scheduled for the subsequent months, including the case involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, and nine others, which is slated to be heard between February 2 and February 23.

The case against Charles Bissue, a former Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Illegal Mining (IMCIM), who is facing criminal charges over alleged corruption, is also scheduled to be heard between January 28 and February 4.

Other cases include The Republic v Adjenim Boateng Adjei; The Republic v Sumaila Abdul Rahman and three others; The Republic v Issah Seidu and three others; and The Republic v Ibrahim Kofi Sessah and another.
