Anlo Afiadenyigba, May 8, 2026 — The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta Municipality, Wisdom Bondieu Seade, together with the Member of Parliament for Keta Constituency, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has met residents of Anlo Afiadenyigba to account for their one-year stewardship in office.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Seade highlighted a number of completed legacy projects undertaken within the municipality. He disclosed that the market shade project at Anlo Afiadenyigba has been completed, while an accommodation facility for students of the Keta Nursing Training College has also been completed.

Members of the community
He further noted that the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) project in Keta has been completed and is currently housing the National Identification Authority. According to the MCE, three senior staff bungalows have also been completed and are currently occupied. In addition, an amount of GH¢120,000 was spent on the renovation of the official residence of the MCE, which is now occupied.
New Projects
On new and ongoing projects, Hon. Seade stated that the CHPS Compound at Anlo Afiadenyigba is currently at the roofing stage and is expected to be completed soon. He added that the Nyravase-Tengekope CHPS Compound is also at the roofing level, while the Abutiakope Kindergarten block is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed by May 15, 2026.
The MCE also announced plans to distribute 1,000 desks to various schools across the municipality, as well as 500 hexagonal desks to kindergartens to improve teaching and learning conditions.
Land for School of Pharmacy
Hon. Seade disclosed that about 50 acres of land would be required for the construction of a School of Pharmacy in the municipality. He appealed to the chiefs and people of Anlo Afiadenyigba to support the initiative by making land available for the project.
Water Projects and Sanitation
Touching on water projects, the MCE revealed that the Anyako water project has been completed and commissioned. He assured residents that by the end of June 2026, every household in Anyako would have access to potable water. He added that other water projects in communities such as Heluvi, Atsiame, and Sonugbe are at various stages of completion.
On sanitation, Hon. Seade said there has been a significant improvement in sanitation within Anlo Afiadenyigba and stressed the need to sustain the momentum. He announced that a sanitation crusade would be launched in June across the municipality, with logistics to be provided to support the exercise.

Members of the community
According to him, a specific day would be set aside for communal sanitation exercises, and individuals who fail to participate would face sanctions. He also disclosed that four tricycles and three motorbikes have been procured to support sanitation activities, adding that more logistics would be secured for all zonal councils within the municipality.
Health Sector
On healthcare delivery, the MCE stated that equipment for the various CHPS compounds is being procured, while nurses are ready to be deployed immediately after construction works are completed.
He further revealed that the emergency and CT Scan departments of the Keta Government Hospital would soon be powered by solar energy through support from a non-governmental organization.
Education and GETFund Projects
Speaking on education, Hon. Seade acknowledged the shortage of teachers in the municipality and explained that he personally visited the Ghana Education Service headquarters in Accra to request additional teachers for the area.
He disclosed that 70 National Service personnel have been posted to the municipality, with 25 already reporting for duty. The MCE appealed to community members to support the newly posted teachers and service personnel by helping them secure accommodation.
On GETFund projects, he stated that five projects are currently ongoing in Tsiame. He also indicated that Atsiavi is benefiting from the construction of a bungalow for the headmaster of the senior high school and a boys’ dormitory block.
Security
Hon. Seade noted that the police service in the municipality lacks adequate logistics. However, he said the MP and the MCE had successfully lobbied for a pickup vehicle for the police, which has since been delivered.
He also announced that the Anlo Afiadenyigba Police Station would soon be opened and urged residents to form watchdog committees to help strengthen security in the area.
Social Welfare and Youth Empowerment
The MCE disclosed that 56 Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) have received financial support ranging between GH¢2,000 and GH¢5,000 to help establish themselves economically. Additionally, 14 beneficiaries have been provided with deep freezers to support their businesses.
He further revealed that about 1,000 youths have been engaged in various apprenticeship programmes, with logistics provided to support their training.
Agriculture and Fisheries
On agriculture, Hon. Seade said fertilizers have been distributed to farmers across the municipality. He added that the municipal tractor has been repaired and is currently in use.
According to him, plans are also underway for the construction of an agricultural mechanization centre at Dorveme on a 10-acre piece of land.
Touching on fisheries, the MCE said intensified law enforcement has resulted in a reduction in illegal fishing activities within the municipality.
Markets and Tourism
The MCE announced that the Keta Market would soon receive a facelift through the construction of a storey building. He added that a 24-hour market would be constructed at Abor, while the Atiavi Market would also be renovated.
On tourism, Hon. Seade disclosed that the municipality would coordinate tourism activities more effectively, with a dedicated day to celebrate tourism. He further announced plans to designate Anlo Afiadenyigba as a cultural village.
Roads and Infrastructure
Addressing road infrastructure, the MCE explained that the Anlo Afiadenyigba road forms part of the government’s “Big Push” project. He said construction has already commenced at Weta and would eventually extend to Anlo Afiadenyigba.
He, however, noted that heavy trucks transporting stones to the sea defence project site are causing damage to portions of the road. He assured residents that the road would receive attention after the completion of the sea defence construction works at Kedzi.
Other roads under construction within the municipality, according to him, include the Aborlorve-Nolopi, Afife, Atiavi, and Sasieme roads.
Sports and Electricity
In the area of sports development, Hon. Seade announced that the Keta Beach Soccer facility is under construction in Keta. Trees have also been planted around the land earmarked for the proposed Keta Sports Complex.
He added that the Ketasco Park would soon be transformed into a modern sports facility.
On electricity, the MCE commended the efforts of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Gakpey, in facilitating the connection of five communities within the Shime area to the national electricity grid.
Traditional Authority Commends Leadership
The Dufia of Anlo Afiadenyigba, Togbi Kadzahlo Drabese IV, commended the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive for what he described as the good work done within the municipality over the past year.
According to the traditional ruler, he would score the MP and the MCE 55 percent for their performance and achievements so far. He, however, urged the two leaders to pay particular attention to improving the road network and the market in Anlo Afiadenyigba.
Residents who attended the accountability forum commended the leadership for engaging the people directly and expressed optimism about the pace of development across the municipality.
